The Empress of Ice Cream is a spoken word/storytelling/music performance for grown-ups. The story slips deftly between cafe life on Penarth seafront in the 1970's and a primal landscape of myth and unexpected encounters... Storyteller Christine Watkins and musician Sianed Jones have created a funny, poignant and remarkable tale that has audiences spell-bound.
This performance is cabaret-style seating in the gallery. Arrive from 7.30 to order a drink from the cafe/bar and get settled at your table... Show begins at 8pm, duration 1hr10mins.
ps. if you remember the now-disappeared multi-storey Esplanade carpark and cafe, don't miss this show!
Audience comments - "I love the world this took me too - totally captivating" "Funny and uplifting" "Like a South Wales Patti Smith and Sarah Millican having a chat!"
